Jeongsu Park is the main protagonist of Hero Has Returned. Once an ordinary teenager, he was unexpectedly summoned to another world after being killed with his family during Minsu Kim's rampage, where he became a Warrior. Returning as the Spear Warrior, he is determined to confront the 9-Warriors to protect his world and avenge his family.
Appearance[]
Pre-Warrior[]
Before his transformation, Jeongsu had a modest appearance, with a simple haircut, a lean frame, and glasses. He typically wore a standard school uniform, blending easily into the crowd.
Post-Warrior[]
After spending a year in the Spear World, Jeongsu’s appearance changed dramatically. He grew taller and built a muscular physique, with scars marking his skin from countless battles. His hair became spiky and windswept, his features sharper and more defined, creating a rugged, intense presence. Without his glasses, his eyes took on a weary, hardened look. He now wears a worn blue cape paired with the imposing armor of the Spear World’s Demon Lord, embodying his hardened new persona.
Personality[]
Pre-Warrior[]
Before being transported to another world, Jeongsu was a kind-hearted, caring, and supportive young man, best shown by the way he comforted his sister, Dabin, through difficult times.
Post-Warrior[]
After his transformation, Jeongsu became a hardened, violent, and pessimistic figure, nearly devoid of empathy. His sole focus is to exact revenge on the Warriors who killed his loved ones, driven by a fierce determination that pushes him to his limits. This relentless drive is fueled by a twisted desire to destroy the 9-Warriors, especially Minsu Kim. Stripped of almost all emotion and on the verge of despair, Jeongsu is hellbent on revenge—not to save the world, but to find a form of salvation for himself, to ease the sorrow and selfish burden he’s carried since his loss.
When the Reconstructed Government stages a ploy with Somin, Jeongsu even threatens her life if she interferes in his mission to confront the fake Iron Arm Warrior. Unconcerned with how others view him, he is willing to be seen as a villain to achieve his goal. However, despite his hardened exterior, Jeongsu’s morals still hold; he will not forsake innocent lives, as seen when he shields Somin from harm when Sengu Jeon, the Golem Warrior, uses her as a distraction.
History[]
Original Timeline[]
In chapter 62, it is revealed that in the original timeline, before Seongjun Lee traveled back in time and began altering events, Jeongsu was not chosen to be a Warrior, with Somin Jeong being the Spear Warrior instead. It is revealed in a Q&A that Seongjun, out of "consideration", caused Somin to not die at the time when she would have been summoned, conversely causing Jeongsu to be summoned instead due to him dying earlier than he was destined to.
Current Timeline[]
Jeongsu Park was once an ordinary student, born into a family with a father who served as a naval officer. When the Sword Warrior Minsu began his devastating rampage, Jeongsu’s family evacuated from Seoul to find safety, while his father joined the war effort to stop the Sword Warrior—a mission strongly implied to have ended in his death.
During the escape, Jeongsu and his family were caught in a traffic jam when they received a warning that the Sword Warrior was closing in. In a panic, everyone abandoned their vehicles and ran. Amid the chaos, Jeongsu’s younger sister, Dabin, pleaded with him to retrieve the plush doll their father had given her. Though hesitant, Jeongsu ultimately went back for the doll, recalling how happy Dabin had been when she first received it.
This decision saved Jeongsu’s life, making him the sole survivor of the Sword Warrior’s massacre. Haunted by the loss of his family, he developed a deep-seated hatred for Minsu. This sorrow and rage would continue to fuel him, even a year later, as he faced new hardships in another world.
Prototype[]
[The prototype version of the story can only be found on an only Korean-language website of Hero has Returned]
Before its serialization even began on Webtoon Naver, Hero Has Returned, was originally published on a Korean website called Aspiring Cartoonist Gallery.
The premise of the prototype story however is different from the original, the Spear Warrior, unlike the original Jeongsu Park, who serves as a vengeful anti-hero and also the hated main protagonist of the series, was already someone who finished his duties from another world and returned.
During the chaos that ensues within South Korea caused by Minsu Kim, the government begs Jeongsu to help them defeat the evil warrior, however, the Spear Warrior doesn't just rush in at once, he declares that he would defeat Minsu, in exchange that the government would repay him anything he wishes.
Unfortunately, in the end, he is overpowered by Minsu and dies. In the main story, the point of view of the character changes to Jeongsu Park as the reactionary character, the creative warrior, becomes the true main protagonist of the series.
Abilities & Powers[]
During his time summoned to another world, Jeongsu pushed himself to the absolute limit to acquire abilities and skills for his end goal of killing the Sword Warrior. As noted by the Wizard who summoned him, Jeongsu had already become the strongest Spear Warrior in her world’s history, and out of all the Warriors, Seongjun Lee deemed him to have the most powerful potential and was the only one with the ability to become strong enough to defeat the Demon King Minsu Kim.
- Magic: Jeongsu had demonstrated the ability to cast enchantments on his spears to grant them additional attributes for his attacks. Jeongsu himself showcased knowledge and understanding of the mechanics of Magic and easily analyzed the abilities and skills of the Sea Dragon Warrior’s abilities to overpower her.
- Apply Element: The magic skill that Jeongsu uses to apply elemental magic to his spears and other weapons to grant them additional attributes.
- Apply Element - Flame x5: Pentagram of Fire: A skill where Jeongsu applies five flame magic circles in a pentagram formation in his desired target and then detonates them to create a powerful explosion.
- Activate Ability: Lightning: An ability, where by activating the magic runes inscribed in his forearms covered by bandages, Jeongsu can create and produce lightning and electricity. This ability is used in tandem with “Lightning Spear Skill: God’s Wrath”.
- Apply Element: The magic skill that Jeongsu uses to apply elemental magic to his spears and other weapons to grant them additional attributes.
- Spear Skills: As the Spear Warrior, Jeongsu possesses numerous skills and abilities focused on using spears as his main weapon, specifically the spears he had acquired and learned to use when he was summoned to his other world.
- Holy Demon Attack System: Void Unity: A dual-handed spear skill that combines the usage of the Holy Spear Paul and the Demon Spear Daryl where by using and combining the two abilities of both spears, he can then fire a powerful blast of energy that possesses both Holy and Demonic energies. As seen, the skill itself is powerful enough to create a gigantic crater and disintegrate the Faith Warrior Hana Baek and force the Martial Arts Warrior, Jiseong Cheon, to hide behind Minsu Kim to survive. The Transformation Warrior, Garam Lee, noted that the power behind it was immense and set him apart from the other Warriors.
- Apply Element - Great Earth: A skill that allows Jeongsu to place powerful Earth magic into his spear.
- Great Earth Spear Technique: Earth Shattering: A technique used together with the Ground Spear Heo Eui, this grants the spear the ability to seemingly alter and destabilize the ground it pierces, causing it to begin swallowing anything standing in the area of its effect.
- Dragon Spear - Chachatier Inherent Ability: Dragon Spirit: A skill possessed by the Dragon Spear Chcachtier that allows Jeongsu to attack his target with a dragon spirit manifested by the spear.
- Apply Elements - Electricity/Ice/Great Earth/Flame/Atmosphere: Power Explosion: A skill used in tandem with the Fragment Spear Artier. This skill allows Jeongsu to enchant numerous elements into his spear attack to create a powerful explosion.
- Frozen Spear Technique - Glacial Path: A spear skill that infuses ice magic into his spear and is presumably originally used using the Ice Spar Vasnes. During his fight against the Sea Dragon Warrior, Jeongsu successfully obtained her trident, and he then used this skill to fire it against her. As shown, the skill combined with the trident was powerful enough to break through most of the layers of her Grand Shield of Atlas Barrier.
- Lightning Spear Skill: God’s Wrath: A spear skill where by using the Lightning Spear and Activate Ability: Lightning to pour lightning into the spear, Jeongsu is able to throw an extremely powerful spear throw infused with lightning. As shown, this skill is powerful enough to completely obliterate the Golem Warrior’s “Flower of Prayer”, destroying all his golems and piercing a huge hole right through his chest, obliterating his heart and a large chunk of his chest and torso.
Equipment[]
Original Weapons[]
During his time summoned to another world, Jeongsu acquired and was given access to numerous items and weapons from that world, specifically spears forged by the world’s most skilled blacksmiths and magicians or spears he had collected from his adventures.
As shown, the Spears he can access are summoned from the Spear World. Allowing Jeongsu to summon anyone of his spears into his hands in anytime. If the spears are damaged or otherwise destroyed, Jeongsu can send whatever remains of the spears back to the spear world’s armory for repair. As shown, the wizard of the Spear World can actually provide him with more assistance by giving him new weapons.
However, the number of Spears he can summon at once is limited due to the number of podiums to place them in to be summoned. In order to summon other spears, the people of the Spear World have to manually swap out certain spears in the podiums for different ones when Jeongsu sends them back.
Spears:
- Shield Spear Ancile - A spear resembling a cross. As shown, Jeongsu primarily uses this spear as a defensive weapon, due to its possessing the ability to create powerful shields and defensive barriers using magic.
- Ground Spear Yeo Eui - A spear resembling a Chinese Polearm. The spear possesses earth-based magic.
- Holy Spear Paulo - Spear possessing holy attributes and the ability to manipulate light.
- Demon Spear Daryl - A demonic-looking spear that likely possesses demon-based abilities. As implied, this spear was the weapon owned by the Demon Lord of the world of Spear and Jeongsu had taken it after defeating the Demon Lord.
- Flame Spear Ignit - A spear possessing fire-based abilities.
- Ice Spear Vasnes - A spear possesses ice-based abilities.
- Dragon Spear Chachatier - A spear implied to possess the abilities of a dragon and can unleash a dragon spirit at Jeongsu’s target.
- Fragment Spear Artier
- Savage Spear Baton
- Poison Spear Skola - A spear possessing the ability to release poisonous gas in the general area it lands in after being thrown. As shown, the poison was strong enough to momentarily damage Minsu Kim after he inhaled some.
- Short Spear Filgain
- Iron Lance Heukto - A new spear created by the Wizard and Smiths of the Spear World for Jeongsu. This new spear possesses immense piercing power and can operate similarly to a drill. Another additional ability is its power to animate the unicorn-horse-like statue in the lance, allowing Jeongsu to ride it and granting him additional mobility, speed, and strength to pierce his target using the lance.
Armor:
- Dark Armor Didantium (The Demon Lord's armor) - The armor of the Demon Lord of the World of Spears that Jeongsu defeated. As shown when he equipped it to fight Minsu Kim, its been implied that this armor greatly boosts his power and strength.
Warrior Relics[]

The relics of the other Heroes
After his first defeat by the Sword Warrior, Jeongsu Park was given access to the weapons and Relics belonging to the other deceased Warriors who attempted to stop the 9-Warriors. Additionally, Jeongsu himself also acquired additional weapons and artifacts after killing some of the 9 Warriors themselves.
Relics
- Metamorphosis Warrior's Belt: After being accepted by the consciousness inside the belt, Jeongsu gained the same armor transformation as Jiwon Ahn. Greatly enhacing his physical attributes and power, as shown where by combining the armor with his spears, Jeongsu’s strength had skyrocketed and he was able to finally pierce the serum enhanced body of the Iron Arm Warrior, Uiho Jeong and killing him. However, along with the usage of this weapon, Jeongsu is also now also in danger of its downside, particularly of how overusage of this armor could lead to overheating and running the risk of his body spontaniously combusting.
- Magic Tome and Magic Staff of the Sorcery Warrior: Using the magic staff of the Sorcery Warrior, Jeongsu can channel and enhance the power of his own magic spells to devistating effects. Jeongusu in particular can use the staff to strengthen a spell in using the same method of the Sorcerer Warrior, where he conjures multiple magic circles and combines their power to create an even more devastating spell before then channeling it through the Stakes and Chains of the Exorcist Warrior.
- Apply Element Electricity 10x: Divine Judgment: Spell where Jeongsu casts multiple powerful electrical attack spells and channels them through the Stakes of the Exorcist Warrior. Which, in turn, channels this electricity through the chains of the nails and to whatever they are wrapped around. Which would then deliver an incredibly powerful and destructive blast of lightning at the victims.
- Shield of the Shield Warrior: As shown, after retrieving her shield, Jeongsu had gained some level of control over the shield despite not being its original owner. Due to him not being as compatible with the shield as Sun-Hwa and just recieving it, alongside the fact that the Shield’s abilities were complicated, Jeongsu has shown to only have limited usage of the shield and cannot use the same techniques and powers as Sun-Hwa. As shown, due to the “Leonhardt-Grade Superconductive Cruiser 'Shield Vessel” remaining on Earth after Sun-Hwa summoned it, Jeongsu could also use it and activate some of its skills using her smaller shield.
- Shield Bash: A shield skill of the Shield Hero’s shield. A skill where the shield absorbs the energy of the opponents attack before redirecting it back to them alongside some of its own energy. Jeongsu has shown he could activate this skill in both the small shield and the Shield Vessel. As shown, he trapped Minsu Kim in a two way trap using both shield, pinning him to the shield vessel while both were using shield bash from both sides, with the power of both shield bash’s eventually rapturing Minsu Kim’s heart and cutting off the immense magical energy his organ provided him.
- Trident of the Sea Dragon Warrior: The Triden originally used by the Sea Dragon Hero, Sua Shin. As shown, due to it essentially being a spear, Jeongsu could enfuse his own unique magic into it and use his spear skills using the trident;
- Frozen Spear Technique - Glacial Path: A technique where Jeongsu infuses ice magic into the trident before then hurling it towards his opponent. As shown from his fight against Sua Shin, this move was powerful enough to nearly obliterate all the layers of her Grand Shield of Atlas barrier and required her and Blesse to focuse all their power to defense to reinforce the barrier’s layers to stop it.
- Hammer and Stakes of the Exorcist Warrior: The original weapons of the Exorcist Warrior, Hwarang Hong. Like with the other Warrior weapons, due to Jeongsu not being entirely compatible with the weapons and the short time he had gained them, Jeongsu cannot use them with the same level of mastery as the original owner. He had instead figured out a way to use them with the help of Garam Lee, the Transformation Warrior and her technology.
- Coffins: Coffin like missle drones that Garam can fire towards Jeongsu’s location. Each of the coffins are loaded with Hwarang’s stakes that on command from Jeongsu, opens up and fires them across the battlefield.
- Chains: Once the stakes are scattered around, Jeongsu can use the same technique as Hwarang to insnare his opponents in chains and keep them bound in place. By saying “chains”, the multiple chains will appear form the stakes and wrapp themselves around Jeongsu’s opponent.
- Coffins: Coffin like missle drones that Garam can fire towards Jeongsu’s location. Each of the coffins are loaded with Hwarang’s stakes that on command from Jeongsu, opens up and fires them across the battlefield.
- Demon Hammer Chronos: The War Hammer used by the Time Warrior, Do-Hoon Lim. As shown, Jeongsu could empower the destructive power of the hammer by sacrificing and infusing his own lifespan into the Hammer, allowing him to then perform devistatingly powerful attacks, but at the cost of aging himself to the equivalent number of “time” he infuses into the weapon.
- 7 Years: As stated by Seongjun Lee, Jeongsu could take advantage of the Hammer’s downside and use it to his advantage, by having Garam Lee calculate when his body’s physical “prime” will be, Jeongsu was able to age his body to its peak by sacrificing the equivalent years, significantly increasing his body’s power and powering up the Demon Hammer with immense energy.
- Key of the Combination Warrior: Like with the shield of the Shield Hero, Jeongsu cannot use the same level of techniques and abilities as Taeil Choi due to him not being as compatible with the Key as Taeil, nor having the same skill set as him to use it. Due to this, Jeongsu cannot use the same techniques and powers as Taeil Choi using the key. Like the Metamorphosis Belt, the key is also a sentient weapon.
- Combination Colossus - Combiner: By using one of his robotic arms and detaching it from his body and into the ground using the key, Jeongsu can summon the head of the combination mech Tael used. Due to him not having any idea on how to drive and pilot the full mech, Jeongsu instead manifests only its head in order to use it to boost the momentum of his attack and increase his attack’s destructive power while also using the Metamorphosis Armor and Demon Hammer Chronos.
Reformation[]
In order to efficiently use all the weapons of the other warriors, Jeongsu had Garam Lee surgically and cybernetically grant him two mechanical arms behind his back, allowing him four arms to use four weapons at the same time. However, a severe draw back to this is the fact that his “reformation” is only partially complete. Due to the fact that the needed medical equipment is not found on Earth, the forebrain operation needed to safely use his new limbs was not done, risking severe damage to his nervous system if he overuses or abuses his new limbs.
As shown during the final battle against the Demon King, Minsu Kim, Jeongsu can launch his two new arms form his body, with both arms demonstrating the ability to fly and maneuver in the air like rockets, with Jeongsu then able to mentally control them like drones. As shown, these functions allows him to control his new weapons and perform attacks normally impossible for him,
Trivia[]
- Jeongsu Park's designs were found out to be literally same as the designs of a character name Durandal whom belongs to a video game called Dungeon Fighter. Thus, the creator was been suspected of plagiarizing the character from another franchise. Image can be found here.
- One of Jeongsu’s predecessors as the Spear Warrior is Shi Huang, who after returning to Earth and his native homeland, proceeded to become its emperor using his newfound powers as a Hero.
- The prototype traits of Jeongsu Park was eventually given to Yuseong Jin.
- As shown, Jeongsu was not the original Spear Warrior, but rather, Somin Jeong was the one originally summoned to the otherworld of spears and was the original Spear Warrior in the original timeline and the alternative timelines Seongjun Lee had created. However, due to alterations Sengjun kept doing which changed the events of the original timelines, Somin ended up not being “killed” during the time that the Spear of World was summoning their Warrior and Jeongsu was chosen instead. And due her not having the same motivations as Jeongsu to become stronger and thus not training as hard as him, it was noted by Seongjun that Jeongsu was many times more powerful than her.
- As noted by the Wizard who summoned him, Jeongsu has already long since surpassed all the previous generations of Spear Warriors before him and he was the most powerful of them all.
