Siegfried was a minor antagonist in The Warrior Returns. He was the previous Sword Warrior and a German soldier during World War II until he was slain by the Glacial Warrior, Ivan Pushkin.
Appearance[]
Siegfried was a middle-aged man with a white cape held by the Iron Cross. He wore a variation of the Waffen-SS uniform or the grey-green SS service tunic.
Personality[]
Based on what little was shown, Siegfried was an arrogant individual who believes in the political belief practiced by Hitler. In addition, he believes that as a superior person, he deserves to rule over the common people.
He is also brash from what Ivan mentioned.
History[]
Summoned[]
Siegfried, like many before him, was summoned to the World of Swords, where he became the Sword Hero. After being summoned, training to increase his power, adapting to the world’s magic and gaining his sword from the world’s natives, Siegfried proceeded to join the war to defeat that world’s Demon Lord and likely war with his forces. Like with his successor and predecessors, Siegfried was accompanied by companions native from the Sword World, including a priestess of the world’s goddess, Seraphine.
Eventually, he managed to survive and become powerful enough to challenge and defeat the Demon Lord. After killing it, he was sent back to Earth.
World War II[]
During WWII, Jonas and Siegfried were sent to invade Stalingrad, along with the 6th and 17th armies, as well as the 1st and 4th Panzer Divisions. However, they were soundly defeated by Ivan Pushkin. Before the final blow was struck, Siegfried asked Ivan if he had any ambitions/goals that he wants to achieve during the war, but Ivan simply replied he wanted to end the war early, so his comrades can go back to live a happy life with their family. Siegfried commented on how humble Ivan's goal was right before he was decapitated.
Legacy[]

Siegfried’s death was a major turning point for the War as it dealt a major blow to the Nazi’s forces and left only Hans Joseph Belgisch as the sole remaining Hero supporting the Nazi Party.
After his death, Ivan Pushkin would gain access to his power as part of his Glacial Summons: Frosted Dead , allowing him to summon a ice golem in his likeness able to use the same power and techniques he had alive.
Power and Abilities[]
As the Sword Hero, Siegfried likely shares multiple powers with his successor Minsu Kim. Albeit, it has been noted by Ivan Pushkin that Minsu had already surpassed him in strength.
Trivia[]
- Siegfried is Minsu Kim’s direct predecessor as the Sword Hero and was the Sword Hero of the 20th Century. As noted by Ivan Pushkin, Minsu had already surpassed Siegfried in power.
- Siegfried's name is likely based on the Dragon slaying knight of German Folklore. Given that, it's highly possible that this is an alias and not the hero’s true name.
