Taeil Choi was a minor character in The Warrior Returns. He was the Combination Warrior and one of the Resistance Warriors who sided with the South Korean government against the 9-Warriors. However, he was killed at some point before the main story began.
Personality[]
Before becoming a Warrior, Taeil Choi was a self-admitted delinquent. He was described as being "immature, irredeemable, and a moron, but still a good person".
History[]
Background[]
He was left in an orphanage when he was young and grew up with his foster brother, Minjae Choi. His rage at being abandoned led him to commit various acts of delinquency. By the time of the start of the story, he had an extensive criminal record, including theft and assault. At some point after his fight with some bikers, Minjae was targeted and put into a coma.
Taeil confronted the biker gang responsible alone and beat them all up. He crippled several members and killed one of the members with his bare hands. Afterward, he drove his bike into an upcoming train as penance for taking a life.
Other World[]
When Taeil was first summoned to the other world, he chose to starve himself to redeem himself for his past actions. After being convinced by the combination key, Taeil decided to become someone worthy of his burdens. He defeated the Machine Lord of his world and returned to Earth.
Current Timeline[]
Taeil Choi is shown caring for the other children at the orphanage when news about Minsu Kim's destruction is shown on TV. At some point, he contacted the military offering his strength but was placed under house arrest

Physical Abilities[]
Taeil is extremely physically fit. Even before he was sent to the other world, he was able to fight several biker gang members. He was strong enough to beat up a biker gang by himself. He is able to fight Mareum Yoon in hand-to-hand combat and kill him despite being infected with the plague and having his chest pierced with a ballista bolt.
High Durability[]
In addition to his physical prowess, Taeil is shown to be extremely resilient and tenacious. He was infected with the disease by the Plague Warrior but was able to continue fighting. Even after being struck through the heart by the Resurrection Warrior's ballista, he can hold down the Plague Warrior and continue to pilot the mech in an attempt to kill the Transformation Warrior.
Combination Key[]
As the Combination Warrior, Taeil has a special key from the Combination World. He is one of the most powerful warriors on the hero side.
Combination Colossus: Combiner[]
By sticking the key into the ground and turning it, Taeil can summon a giant robot and pilot it from the head. Combiner is a very bulky robot with a small round head with a key-shaped hole for the face.

- While inside Combiner, Taeil can use an enlarged key and transform multiple different items into tools for the robot to use. These can be weapons or general technology. Once combined, the items enlarge to fit the giant robot
- Fighter Jet: By combining with a fighter jet, Combiner gains the jet wings and the ability to fly
- Flamethrower
- Satellite - ATUS1500: Using a satellite provided by the military, the ATUS1500 lets Taeil track the Plague Warrior no matter where he goes

- While inside Combiner, Taeil can use an enlarged key and transform multiple different items into tools for the robot to use. These can be weapons or general technology. Once combined, the items enlarge to fit the giant robot
- Self Destruct Mechanism
- While not shown directly, it was seen during a flashback of Seongjun that Taeil can press a button that would cause the colossus to presumably self-destruct as a last resort to take out enemies
Combination Giant Combiner: True Hero King - Taeil Choi Version[]
By sticking the key into himself, Taeil can combine himself with the key to become a stronger version of the original combination robot. This version is much slimmer than the original and there are various key markings across the robot's chest and shoulders. This also fully repairs the robot. In the head of the robot, there is a hot barrier that surrounds Taeil. Inside it, Taeil can move freely and the robot mirrors his movements.
- Sword
- Taeil is shown wielding a massive sword-like key. He can easily cleave apart the worms summoned by the Plague Warrior
- Cage
- Inside the head of the robot, Taeil can move around while moving the robot. He can generate a steel cage and trap others inside with him.
- Giant Key
- While it is not yet shown how this is used, the Plague Warrior is killed after being stabbed through with an enlarged version of the key
Weakness[]
- The head of the robot is where Taeil pilots from. If the enemy were to attack the head directly, it would be possible to injure or kill Taeil
Trivia[]
- Taeil Choi is a warrior who disregards his survival in battle and has a 100% guaranteed chance of dying if the Hero of Return doesn't intervene.
- The key remarked that of all the heroes before him, Taeil is the strongest.
- In every timeline, Taeil Choi is guaranteed to kill one rampaging warrior at the cost of his own life, sometimes taking down two or three rampaging warriors.
