Yggdrasil is a minor character in The Warrior Returns. It is the God of the Verdure World responsible for empowering Junho Yu.
Appearance[]
Unlike the other gods, like the Witch of the Snow, Seraphine and Goddess of the Resurrection World, Yggdrasil appears not as a humanoid like entity, but instead as a giant tree.
Personality[]
Yggdrasil was shown to be a very gentle and kindhearted god, with her selecting Junho as its world’s hero solely because of his kindness and the fact that he never once harmed any other sentient life in his life. As shown, Yggdrasil has very pacifistic disposition and unlike other gods, did not give her hero any offensive combat abilities.
As implied by her illegitimate child, Misteltien, Yggdrasil’s pacifism is one of her most dominant traits. So much so that when Junho Yu agreed to use Misteltien’s power to gain combat abilities and embrace violence to fight back against the 9-Warriors, Yggdrasil and by extension her children, no longer favored him and subesquently cut him off from drawing power from them.
History[]
Powers & Abilities[]
As a god, Yggdrasil has power easily surpassing mortals, even that of Heroes.
- Summoning: Like other Gods, Yggdrasil has the power to summon otherworldly humans to her world in order to become its hero and save her world from danger. Unique to it, Yggdrasil has the ability to summon a specific human who falls under a specific condition/requirement set by her to be its world’s Hero. A shown where Junho was summoned due to his kindness and pacifism, as that was the kind of individual Yggdrasil wanted to be her hero.
- Empowerment: Like all Gods seen, Yggdrasil can empower a mortal with immense powers and unique abilities. As shown where she was the one to give Junho his abilities. As shown, Yggdrasil is unique in the fact that it does not give her heroes any offensive abilities, but instead powerful support type powers. As shown, Junho’s powers are almost completely dependent on Yggdrasil and her children, and Yggdrasil herself can even choose to cut off her and her family’s connection to their hero and refuse to provide them with any more power should they choose to.
Trivia[]
- Yggdrasil was refered by her illigitimate child Misteltien with female pronouns. Indicating that Yggdrasil is a Goddess.
